About Us

Michelle Thau, Owner of Le Beau Visage Permanent Cosmetics

Michelle Thau, RDH is a paramedical and permanent cosmetic tattoo artist and the owner of Le Beau Visage. She has completed THOUSANDS of cosmetic and paramedical procedures.  Cosmetic tattooing for eyebrows, eyeliner and lips are just part of the services she provides.  She also is able to tattoo scars from injury, surgical or burns to better match the adjacent skin color anywhere on the body.  Scars including the scalp, can benefit from amazing life-changing tattooing. Michelle has been in the dental field since 1989 and graduated with academic honors and an Associate of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1998.  She is a California licensed dental hygienist but, no longer regularly works in the field.    She is the author of the Exposure Control & Infection Prevention (ECIPP) handbook endorsed by Butte County for the Body Art industry for infection prevention compliance with AB300.

When providing cosmetic tattooing services, comfort and quality artistry are the expectations for your service at Le Beau Visage.   Discomfort is managed with pharmaceutical grade anesthetics keeping clients comfortable throughout the procedure.  Every individual client's style, desired look and facial features are taken into account and discussed before the procedure.  The client is involved in every step of the process.  Michelle was also the first person in Chico to train with Xtreme Lashes for eyelash extensions in 2007.  Since that time she has help built the most popular office for quality and exceptional eyelash extension services.

Backed with a passion to work with cancer patients, Michelle assists as part of the final reconstructive process for breast cancer patients by tattooing breast areola's. As a past member of the Dental Division at Enloe Hospital Cancer Center's Head and Neck Tumor Board, Michelle expanded her knowledge of diseases which can effect body image and hair loss.  It was this experience which inspired Michelle to begin education on permanent make-up application with an emphasis on medical tattooing for breast reconstructions and scar revisions.  In 2005 she completed her education and received a certificate in micropigmentation from International Cosmetique and opened Le Beau Visage Permanent Cosmetics.

In October of 2006, Michelle's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.  As an only child, she was involved in every facet of the treatment with her Mom, from diagnosis to completion of chemotherapy and radiation.  This experience affirmed the desire to work with cancer patients and the drive to be an asset to the community for breast areola re-pigmentation.  "My original goal was to work on building my skills the first year of practice, then begin more advanced classes during year two.  But my Moms diagnosis set me back a year on additional courses.  I believe there is a reason for everything your handed in life.  Because of my Mom's diagnosis, I know so much more about breast disease and treatment then I ever did before."

In 2008, Michelle completed "Advanced Techniques in Areola Restoration" and "Advanced Color Theory" continuing education classes.  Requirements for Blood Borne Pathogen courses and Cal-OSHA Infection Control are also part of the regular training Michelle maintains.  As a dedicated member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, she prides herself in providing natural looking, beauty enhancing permanent cosmetics and works with each individual's bone structure and skin type to achieve a desired result.   Having had permanent make-up procedures, Michelle knows first-hand the priceless benefits of professionalism, artistry, detail and anesthetic for procedures!

When not in the office, Michelle enjoys spending time with her children. Together the family enjoys traveling, home projects, swimming, gardening and outdoor activities such as camping, riding and off-road racing. As a busy mom, Michelle knows just how hectic morning time can be and the convenience of permanent make-up is priceless when time isn't on your side!

Our Master-Level Lash Artists

Eyelash Services Since 2007

In 2007, we trained with the leading eyelash extension company, at that time, Xtreme Lashes.  With years of experience and quality artistry and products we are able to bring you exceptional eyelash extensions.

Experience Means Safety

Our master-level lash artists take pride in proper placement of the eyelashes, being careful to apply each individual eyelash extension of the correct length, diameter and thickness onto a single, healthy natural eyelash.  Lash extensions require a great amount of patience, detail, artistry and precision. We always use surgical eye magnification loupes which help to yield an AMAZING result! And, the bottom line remains the safety of your eyes and lashes. It is imparative to not cause unnecessary damage.

Cheaper Doesn't Mean Better

When it comes to doing extensions correctly, there is no room for cutting corners.  An experienced technician can complete a full set in 1.5-2 hours and fills should take 45-60 minutes.

Because of the recent expansion of the eyelash extension industry, many clients have shared past experiences with us where their visits have been upwards of 5 hours and the cost for doing the service was minimal. This does an injustice to the providers which are using high-end products and have perfected the skill.

We are always getting feedback from our lash clients that have went elsewhere about the truly phenomenal job they receive and how quickly we are able to obtain that.  It's experience.....and it speaks volumes!

A Personal Message from the Owner:

"I work WITH you, not on you"!

"Thank you and I am honored that you are considering Le Beau Visage  for providing you with a permanent cosmetic procedure!  I pride myself in listening to my clients and working together to make your desired result possible with permanent make-up.  It's important to me to please my clients.  I truly enjoy working with each person I meet and further choose to work in this profession because I love it.  I do not schedule a hectic or busy day filled with back to back clients so that I can dedicate myself to each person I see, take my time to do an excellent job and continue to enjoy cosmetic tattooing and the wonderful people of the Chico area that seek services from me.

If this kind of one-on-one relaxed treatment is what you are looking for, please give me a call at (530) 893-3937 or an email message and I'll be happy to consult with you on your expectations about permanent make-up.  I do kindly ask that you please leave a message if I am out of the office and I promptly return your call.  I look forward to meeting you and I thank you for visiting my web site."

Michelle

Referrals

Physician Referred

We are proud to acknowledge our relationship to treat patients for numerous local plastic and reconstructive surgeon's including Dr. Dan Thomas and North State Plastic Surgery.  Michelle works closely with physicians to complete the final stages of the breast reconstruction which includes tattooing the nipple-areola area or residual scarring.  Many of our medical cases involve scar camouflage, which helps to reduce the appearance of scars from surgery, accidents/injury, burns or other trauma.
